If you want to create the life you want, it’s easy to assume you need more motivation, a better plan, or a lucky break. But before any of those things can make a lasting difference, there’s something even more important to understand:
You are already creating.
Every day, your thoughts, emotions, choices, and energy shape your experience of life. Whether you’re building a family, growing a career, starting a business, making art, or simply deciding what kind of day you’re going to have, you’re using your innate creative power. The question isn’t whether you’re creating. It’s what you’re creating.
At the Boulder Psychic Institute, we teach that learning to create consciously is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself. It begins by recognizing that your creativity isn’t limited to painting a masterpiece or writing a novel. Your life itself is your greatest creation!
Just as your physical body is constantly renewing itself, your spiritual body is always growing and evolving. You are designed to create your life and all of your experiences.
It’s time to own your creative power and focus it toward what you do want instead of what you don’t.
This sounds simple, but many of us spend far more energy thinking about what isn’t working than imagining what we’d actually love to create. Over time, that habit shapes our decisions, relationships, and opportunities. Shifting your attention isn’t about pretending problems don’t exist. It’s about consciously directing your creative energy toward the life you want to build.
Being creative doesn’t just apply to making art. You need creativity to build a family, a community, your career, and to find solutions to problems (miracles)!
The key is to understand that nobody is going to create your life for you. Life as a human is a DIY kinda deal.
This perspective can be both exciting and confronting. It means you have more influence than you may realize, but it also means waiting for someone or something else to change your life rarely works. Your spirit came here to participate, experiment, create, and discover what’s possible.
The good news?
You don’t have to have everything figured out before you begin. Creating your life isn’t about getting every decision right. It’s about continuing to choose, adjust, learn, and create again.
The more consciously you direct your creative energy, the more intentionally you begin shaping your future instead of simply reacting to it.

Your creative energy can get blocked with messages that aren’t your truth.
“I can’t do anything right.”
“I feel stuck.”
“I’m not creative enough.”
Those messages aren’t your truth. At the BPI, we call this foreign energy. Foreign energy is simply energy you’ve picked up from other people that doesn’t belong to you. It might be a belief about yourself, an expectation you’ve carried for years, or an old message you’ve accepted as true.
Over time, it’s easy to mistake those messages for your own. They can influence how you think about yourself and what you believe is possible.
As you clear foreign energy, your own creative energy has more room to flow. Creating starts to feel more natural because you’re no longer creating through someone else’s limitations.
Creativity is more than just a talent or skill. It’s a window into your soul.
When you permit yourself to create, you’re revealing a piece of yourself to the world. The creative process helps you better understand who you are because it reflects your inner world to you. Sometimes you don’t even realize what you think or feel until you’ve created something that expresses it.
That’s one of the beautiful things about creativity. It isn’t just about producing something. It’s also a way of getting to know yourself.
When you share your creations, you also share a part of yourself. Your creativity becomes a bridge between your inner world and the people around you, inviting deeper understanding and connection.
As you grow, your creations naturally grow with you. They become a reflection of where you are in your journey. That’s why creating the life you want isn’t just about changing what’s around you. It’s also about discovering more of who you are.
Creating the life you want isn’t just about having creative energy. It’s also about deciding where that energy goes.
Are you giving too much of your creative energy to your family, work, friends, or endless to-do lists? Make sure you’re investing that energy in the parts of your life that matter most to you.
Every “yes” you give sends a little of your creative energy in that direction. Projects, relationships, responsibilities, and even problems all require your attention to sustain them. If most of your energy goes toward obligations that leave you drained, there won’t be much left for the dreams you’re hoping to bring to life.
Take a look at where your creative energy has been flowing lately. Does it match the life you’re trying to create?

Here’s a pro tip.
From time to time, reverse the flow of your creative energy and send it back into your body to give yourself a regenerative boost. When your battery is fully charged, you can create with maximum potency. You’ll have more vitality to actually do what you need to do to create all the cool stuff you want in life.
Your energy is meant to move with intention. Most people spend their days sending energy outward towards work, family, responsibilities, and endless mental to-do lists. While there’s nothing wrong with that, constantly creating from an empty tank eventually leads to burnout.
Before you ask yourself, “What should I create next?” ask a different question:
“How full is my own battery?”
Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is bring your energy back home. Rest. Meditate. Get a healing. Fill yourself up first. Creation becomes much easier when you’re creating from fullness instead of depletion.
Every new creation needs somewhere to land.
That means you may need to let go of a few things before you can create something new. Clear a little space on your calendar, evict a few limiting beliefs, or lovingly toss that first draft and have another go.
Many of us try to add a new dream on top of an already overflowing life. Then we wonder why it never gets off the ground. Sometimes creating the life you want isn’t about adding more. It’s about making space.
When you release what no longer serves you, you give your next creation somewhere to land.
If you’re hating a particular creative process, it’s worth asking why. Have you outgrown the medium, become too attached to the outcome, or reached the point where a healing could help you reconnect with your joy?
Notice we said mostly.
Creating doesn’t have to be effortless to be enjoyable. Some ideas come together beautifully, while others ask a little more of you along the way. Just because something gets difficult doesn’t mean it’s time to give up on it.
But if the joy has disappeared altogether and creating consistently feels like a chore, pay attention. Your spirit naturally wants to create, so that may be your cue to take a look at what’s getting in the way.

Bouts of self-doubt are part of the creative process. Just don’t let them define you.
Instead of treating self-doubt as proof that you’re on the wrong path, treat it as a normal companion that occasionally tags along when you’re trying something new. You don’t have to believe every fearful thought that crosses your mind.
Remember, that idea you have is a gift. Take care of it and treat it tenderly. Some ideas need time to grow before they’re ready to be shared with the world. Others need mistakes and a few spectacular first drafts before they become what they’re meant to be.
Protect your inspiration long enough for it to take root.
Every day, you have the opportunity to create. Sometimes the result is visible. More often, it’s reflected in the choices you make. Your spirit wasn’t designed to sit on the sidelines waiting for life to happen. You came here to create.
The life you’re living today is one of your creations. The life you’re dreaming about can be, too. Every choice, every challenge, every new beginning is another opportunity to create with greater awareness.
Your creative power has been there all along. The question is: what will you create next?

Creating the life you want begins with recognizing that you’re already creating your life every day through your choices, attention, and energy. The next step is becoming more intentional about where you direct that creative power and clearing limiting beliefs that hold you back.
Feeling stuck often has less to do with talent than with the mental and energetic clutter you’ve been carrying. At the Boulder Psychic Institute, we also look for foreign energy: thoughts and beliefs you’ve unconsciously picked up from other people that were never yours to begin with.
Creative energy is your spirit’s natural ability to create. It isn’t limited to artists or musicians. Every person uses creative energy to shape their life, whether they realize it or not.
Yes. Spiritual healing can help remove the energetic clutter that’s blocking your creativity. As your energy clears, your natural ability to create begins to emerge on its own.
